2019 Lincoln Nautilus: Mid-Size SUV Gets New Name, Drops Alphabet Soup
January 30, 2018The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus is the Ford luxury brand’s newly restyled mid-size SUV. It marks (pun intended) Lincoln’s return to giving its vehicles names that mean something and add brand value. Lincoln’s previous practice of giving its cars and SUVs three-letter names starting with “MK” and ending with a letter that makes no sense, is finished. Goodbye MKX, soon to be joined by MKC, MKZ, and MKT in the automotive model name graveyard.
The 2019 Nautilus May Seem Different, But It’s Basically The Same
The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus may have a new name, but it is not an all-new vehicle. The Nautilus is Lincoln’s mid-size two-row SUV. It shares its platform with Ford’s Edge SUV. The Nautilus has been given a nose job. This replaces the former MKX’s baleen whale snout with the Continental’s new grille treatment. The new grille has already been seen on the current MKZ sedan, the new Navigator full-size SUV, and the upcoming 2019 MKC compact SUV.
2019 Lincoln Nautilus Gives You An Extra Helping Of Luxury
Lincoln’s recent approach to luxury has been very successful, with almost forty percent of buyers coming from other luxury brands, including Lexus and Cadillac. The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus continues this approach with its luxury features and appointments.
The Nautilus’ available Ultra Comfort seats are 22-way adjustable for personalized comfort, including a lumbar massage function to reduce fatigue. This feature was developed with input from orthopedic surgeons. Heated and cooled seats are also an option. Premium Revel audio systems, in both 13-speaker and 19-speaker versions, are available for the ultimate sound experience. Additional luxury touches include acoustic side glass, pushbutton gear shift, and a hand-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel.
For the ultimate, there is the Gala edition, a unique new Lincoln Black Label theme. It is available only through Lincoln Black Label dealers, and was inspired by haute couture at New York’s Met Gala. The Gala theme features seats in elegant Carmine leather, complemented by Onyx leather, an Alcantara headliner, and aluminum accents.
New Technology Features On The 2019 Nautilus
Inside the Nautilus, you will find a concealed wireless charging pad, as well as SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 12.3” fully configurable digital instrument cluster sits in front of the driver.
Driver assistance technologies include a new lane-centering feature that pairs with adaptive cruise control to help maintain the vehicle’s position in its lane. Also new is evasive steer assist, which uses radar and cameras to lessen the risk of a rear-end collision. If there is insufficient space to avoid a collision by braking, the system can help the driver to steer around the vehicle in front. This is truly awesome tech!
Should You Lease A 2019 Lincoln Nautilus?
Leasing is a great idea! The Nautilus is a serious luxury vehicle in a competitive segment, so there should be some great lease deals available after the Nautilus debuts. Add to this Lincoln’s free pickup and delivery for all service appointments, with a loaner vehicle included, so you should also get a hassle-free ownership experience.
The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus will be available at your local Lincoln and Lincoln Black Label dealers during the summer of 2018.
